Bits and pieces

The pot luck supper has been postponed until tomorrow, Saturday, same time - 5pm and same place - Pool Deck. Hopefully the temperature will have risen a bit - it certainly has been cool for the past two days. Of course this does mean that the supper will clash with the junkanoo - but maybe few Owners had intended braving the noise and crowds anyway!

I have spoken to the Manager and asked her to confirm the arrangements regarding Owners and their non-renting guests in light of the President's directions at the Owners Forum last week. (Sent to Owners on email)

1. Owners and their non-renting guests do not have to pay any registration fees on check-in.

2. Owners who have completed the form advising the Front Desk of a friend's arrival have had those forms approved without any fees being applied.

3. Owners who are in the "Rental Group" are usually charged $62.50. (A studio is assessed as raising $500 per week rental thereby incurring a charge of $125 being the 25% fee mentioned in the Articles. The Board introduced the 50% reduction of that $125 for prompt payment) It is yet to be seen if an Owner in the "Rental Group" can offer their units to friends under the same arrangement as "non-renters".

There is some uncertainty expressed by the Manager as she has not had 'official' notification of these arrangements yet, and is relying on the Owners Forum report for her guidance at this stage and is forwarding the forms to Board Members for their approval.

The cost of laundry tokens has gone up - aaah.... inflation bites - they now cost $1.30 each.

Yesterday's Freeport News had a response from the Bahama Immigration Department on the front page - you can read it for yourself on www.freeport.nassauguardian.net . In light of that report I have a question: When is a deportation not a deportation? When it is a supervised departure of course.

This is getting stupid.
Bruno gets arrested Hand-cuffed put in Jail overnight and escorted off the Island via immigration officials.

Now this is being termed an escorted departure (unbelievable).
This is better than a perceived indiscretion.
Nothing less than a travesty, the responsible Bahamian Official(s) should be ashamed.

Pat, was the article in the Freeport News the "CYA" response after the letter asking/suggesting an investigation.

I find this News Article an insult to our(CB) collective intelligence.

I ask that Those who are applying the pressure for answers continue to do so.

Sorry Pat, just re-read the Freeport article dated Jan. 3rd and the letter was dated 4th.

Still the liberty taken in bastardizing/massaging the meaning of deported into supervised departure is insulting.

For those of you who missed the 'Gathering' at the Immigration Office today, let me relay the message on one of the signs carried by Bahamians who were protesting the return of Bruno Rufa.

'HAITIANS DEPORTED
CANADIANS GET ASSISTED LEAVE, WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?

Ah yes, just the notoriety Coral Beach needs!

We hope the 'prominent businessman' who has so far remained unnamed hears their message.

I am not sure if this comment will find its way to your blog. But here goes.

I am tired of all the back and forth between all the owners. Such a division has been created, it saddens me beyond belief.

I am not much of a computer person, but I do read this blog from time to time. I was always taught that there is "his side, her side and the other side."

If what owners are submitting to this blog are 1/2 truth, I am deeply disturbed. The newpaper which I get everyday stated Bruno was deported.

Bruno, you should be ashamed of yourself and Mario why would you want to align yourself with such a person. This is your country, I, we are visitors.

Is what they are saying true, are you and him in this together.? Someone just came to my door today looking for my proxy. Shame on you, Shame on you.

I may be old, but I am not yet senile.

No one campaigns for another individual unless there is something at the end of this rainbow. I intend to ask my friends what they think. They will be on Island shortly.

It again saddens me to see Coral Beach brought down to this level.

You youngsters should be voting for who can do the best job for us at Coral Beach.

Not who you know..

Shame on all of us.

Hopefully I have not signed my name to this, I want to speak to my friends first.

Then look out.

Unfortunately the accusations are true.

New found Awareness with owners talking to one another is the path to peace, prosperity and tranquility.

Refresher:
1.) Old Coral Beach web site taken down.
2.) Newsletter disapeared
3.) Pool Bar closed ... our place to gather talk, discuss and laugh.
4.) no e-mails or we will hunt you down using you IP address.
5.) Bruno/Phil chastise Pat for having a blog (an opinion)

It is/was quite plain to see that they wanted to minimize the Owners interaction (knowledge).

The pattern was clear last year but some did not believe.

It is obvious the word is out and spreading, we are not sheep we want truthful answers.

Good for you for not giving up your proxy.
I think you are right on with your assessment for motivation.

"Where there's smoke there's fire"
Here at Coral Beach it's a conflagration.

People are talking about the attempt to collect proxies from owners by going door to door. Apparently the person who is involved in this works for Mr. Donato. All owners should cry "FOUL PLAY"! This has to be illegal as hell! Any proxy collected this way should be, without question, disallowed at the election.
I ask that any owner who felt coerced into handing over proxies in this way, please contact the blogmaster of this blog (if she is willing). You can legally resubmit a new and different proxy at the time of the election, provided the date shown is later than the one you felt coerced in handing over. This new proxy will cancel out the one you gave to Mr. Donato's representative. NO ONE SHOULD EVER BE INTIMIDATED INTO HANDING OVER PROXIES TO ANYONE. This is yet another shameful chapter of the Coral Beach saga.
