I have to comment on Your Concentration Required...Relax, Settle Down and Question - Coral Beach really needed the "Face Lift" the paint, the tile floor, the new storage units, the rusty iron fence, and the gate to the beach. But that is no way equal to the amount that is not accounted for in the numerous quotes - Owner's Forums comments -about the treasury. The cosmetic improvements should have been done a long time ago. I have been there for 2 major assessments. This last one should have netted close to $900,000 to the coffers. The Spaulling project is not finished because the Man in charge was not paid the amount that was agreed upon, the washers and dryers need to be replaced. Many of the board members have their own washer and dryer in their units so they do not care about that. The Pool Bar is the biggest disappointment. Read this over and over again - a lot of the $$$$$ cannot be accounted for- Where ARE THEY????
I just got this Freeport Newspaper Story and it appeared to me that the President tried to minimize his predicament. He said that he was “in the wrong place at the wrong time”. From this story, it seems as if the president told us all a big lie. So, Bruno, if you lied about this, what else have you lied about? Now I am really starting to wonder about YOU and the BOARD.
I am concerned about the enormous amount of leaks and mold that have been reported at Coral Beach.
Please owners if you have a leak, mold or both - could you inform us by use of the blog.
If you are afraid of using your unit number and name send it to Pat's email and she can keep count of units, just ask her not to post your name or unit number.
There is strength in numbers and we can then convince the board that after years of complaining this must be addresed first and foremost before beautifying our complex with new fruit trees, gates, new storage units etc.
Re Anon's comment of 27th Oct at 12.42 - I am happy to help if Owners do not wish to make themselves known - but in order to ensure no duplication I would need to have the Unit No. I can assure Owners that I will keep any such info confidential and only report the total numbers of units with leaks and/or mold on the blog.
When I arrived at my apartment on Oct 16 after a 6 month absence, I discovered a leak on a bedroom wall near the sliding glass door. There are damp spots on the wall and mold(black mold) starting from aprox. 8 inches from the floor and covering about an 18 inch square. I took pictures, filed a report at the front desk and filed a claim at Star Insurance. I happened to be looking out the window while it was raining one day and observed a large amount of water falling from the scupper above my apartment directly onto the ground right next to the foundation of the building. The water then splashed-back onto my porch and into the utility closet. This is the likely source for this problem in my apt. The scupper system must be redesigned to direct the water further away from the bldg. if we are to avoid future problems I have a second leak on my bedroom ceiling, with mold also growing round it. It appears to be from the apt above or the roof. The B&G committee did not feel it necessary to take a look at either leak because they said they cannot do anything until they are able to negotiate with the contractor to take care of all of these leaks. I am very concerned what will happen when I leave and close up my apt for another few months. Jean Mankamyer Apt 2101
I have leaks and mold acros the entire length of my apartment. I went through the hurricane 3 years ago without a drop of water as well as many tropical storms without any water problems. The problem has started since the scuppers were installed and the enormous amount of water cascading from the spouts hasn't helped. The water now comes down through the vent in the bathroom and runs right through the apartment.
