Final posting
The Board of Directors of Coral Beach Hotel and Apartments has demanded this blog be de-activated immediately under threat of legal action being taken against me and my partner. Thank you for your comments over the past year which made the blog as interesting as it was to so many Owners.

Roll up, roll up....
February 12th and BINGO begins in the conference room at 7pm - 20 people must be there for it to run - so put the date in your diary.
Before that, the shuffleboard crew will be on court at 1pm on Sunday 10th February.

Fireworks!
We had a really great fireworks display tonight - and I hear it was in memory of a young mother who died in a traffic accident on Midshipman Drive about three years ago. Today was a special day for the family who live in one of the lanes off Royal Palm , and they chose to remember her life this evening. The show must have lasted about 20 minutes with some unusally colourful rockets and bangers - spekky as the Australians would say - and the floating raft with all the explosives was moored right off our beach. We couldn't have had a better view.
Not quite so spekky but certainly most attractive is the newly tiled 'boardwalk' from the lobby to the beach. The path is bordered by small limestone rocks and infilled on the side with pearock. The design includes a low ramp for wheelchair access to the small seating area on one side.
I see that the Arts & Crafts Group have started up again. Meetings are being held in the Conference Room at 9.30am on Monday mornings - all are welcome, just bring your materials, ideas and talents and enjoy the morning with like-minded friends. Who knows what inspiration will be generated????
I see the front Desk is piled high with papers and envelopes again so Owners can expect to receive further communications from the Board. The accounts for Aug - Dec have already been circulated by email to those Owners who have that facility. Remember to keep the Office updated with any changes to your contact addresses.

Saw a geyser today
Lovely beach and pool day again today, after a very good evening yesterday. About 50 Owners joined in the gathering by the pool even though the wind was blowing a bit too much which put some other Owners off, but they missed out on some tasty food and a good time. Maggie Vander Woude won the draw and I'm sure had plans for the immediate use of the cash! Wilma Turner was pleased to have half the pot to put towards the next Owners' event. Among the chit chat I was told that the AGM Minutes will not be long in coming. I also heard that the Board would be meeting today so maybe we will soon learn which Members are on what committees.
This afternoon we spotted a fountain in the Riviera Towers parking lot, and a man with an air compressor putting a hose into the hole close by the sewage aerator in the car park. The resulting spout was at least 10 feet high....... looked more like water than anything else I rush to say!
Today one of the Lucayan Towers buildings has just informed their Owners that there will be a $4,000 assessment per studio, I don't know what it will be on the larger units. Meanwhile I notice quite a few apartments for sale here at CBH, including a few one-bedrooms, and one is priced at $120,000 which is somewhat short of the $150,000 - $160,000 we were told was the going price last week.
The 'boardwalk' pathway to the Pool from the lobby is now tiled with the pale sandy coloured tiles that match the lobby corridor itself. It looks so much better and of course is much safer than the slippery tiles they've replaced. Sad to see that some of the tiles in the elevators have started to crack and chip already. I guess the volume of heavy traffic using the elevators was unexpected.
Just a reminder that the flea market/garage sale takes place next Saturday - info is up on the notice boards in the lobbies. I am told that "Dream Girls" at the Regency Theatre is a smash hit and well worth going to see, there will be performances next weekend too. Yesterday evening Congo Man handed out tickets to his new Island Show at the International Bazaar - Tuesdays and Saturdays at 9pm. I hope to hear more details soon. So with Fish Fry on Wednesday, Rake n' Scrape or Island Boys at Bikini Bottom at Williams Town beach from Thursday to Saturday and more live music at the Curley Tail on Sundays - there's lots to entertain you right now. Plus one active Owner tells me that taking a bike ride to the Dolphin enclosure about 7am in the morning gets you a free show, from outside the fence though.
